A building contractor would never build a house without a blueprint. A house built willy-nilly without a plan could have spacial and layout problems and be structurally unsound. Nobody wants to live in a house like that. You can say the same is true for a website. Planning the basic framework and organization of a site is a crucial step that if overlooked could, at best, frustrate the end user or at worse, damage a company reputation. The website architecture is the visual map on which the entire contents of a website are laid out. It establishes the paths of navigation and organizes the flow of information into an intuitive route for the user to follow.
